It is that time of year again for the Imperial Mild to make its outing. Full of rich coffee and sweet chocolate note, a moreish mild at a delicious 7.1%. Grab some before it is all gone.

New Website
The last few days have been spent putting the finishing touches to the new look website, I hope you like the look and feel.
There is still a lot more to do but now we have a website that works nicely on mobile as well as desktop and tablets. If you see any issues please drop me a line and I will get on fixing it ASAP.
Vegan Beer Fest
We would like to thank everyone who came down and made this event such a great day for everyone, and to the organisers who made it all possible. There were great people, food and of course great beer.
The number of times I heard, “but I don’t like stout”, or “I only like Pale”, to have people walk off with a half or pint of Stout or ESB was very exciting. Expanding people’s beer horizons was a great experience and being able to explain why it tasted the way it did was very rewarding. Thank you again to all you new found Blackbeerble Stout fans out there!
Brewed for Everyone
It’s great when someone tries our beers for the first time. We have always believed that our beers should be available to as many people as possible and as such we have never included animal products in any of our beers. We want all people to be able to join the Real Ale/Craft beer movement and enjoy our beers.
We are now registered with the vegan society.
Bloomberg “…delightfully named…”
It is not everyday you find that you have been mentioned on Bloomberg, and delightfully named no less:

Looking forward to seeing everyone at the pub quiz evening on Wednesday at the London Drinker Festival.
Brewing With Ignition
We had some visitors to the brewery yesterday, Ignition came to do a brew with us. It was a great day, we started at the crack of dawn and had a great day brewing. Thank you and we hope to have you back again.

Brewhouse Update
A quick update for you. Last night we tested the elements in the copper, checked the water tightness of the kettle and FV1.
All was good.
All that is left to test are the elements in the HLT and get some electrics run across the Unit and we will be in a position where we can brew some beer.
Just one more thing … well, two really … I need to build a steam condenser for the copper and a grist hydrator.
A great time was had at London Brewers Market
Saturday saw us heading out at 6am to go and get set up for the London Brewer’s Market at Old Spitalfields. We were all set up by 9.30 and had time to get some nice photos. It was very exciting for us to sell directly to the customers and get their feedback directly. Also there was fantastic music provided by a great DJ line-up throughout the day.
This was only the second outing for our Bermondsey Abbey Sour, and the first for our brand new Willoughby Stout. The Sour was the only sour I saw at the market and had a number of repeat customers, the feedback we received was very positive and I now have to rush off and recreate this on a larger scale.
With temperatures hitting 30+ under the glass canopy, our Holy Smoke was a winner. At 2.9% it was refreshing from the pint or bottle and allowed a break from the stronger IPAs, DIPAs, and 7% sour on offer. We were run off our feet and didn’t really get a chance to go and explore the other 26 breweries’ offerings.
Hope to see you all again next time and thank you to The Five Points Brewing Company for organising the event, and Old Spitalfields for hosting us.
London Brewers Market
We will be at the London Brewers Market at Old Spitalfields Market this Saturday 23 July, from 11am – 6.30pm.
We have been furiously brewing in between setting up the new site in Edmonton, we are going to be bringing you a few new beers and a couple of trusted favourites. Also we hope have some new t-shirts for all those looking to refresh their wardrobe this season.
How Much Longer?
How much longer till the brewery is completed I hear you all cry?
Not long now. We have a few things to finish off:
- Drainage – is being sorted out as I type; boring I know but essential.
- The new sloping brewery floor should be going in this week.
- Once the floor is in and curing we have a couple of weeks to wait before we can move the brewkit in
- Plumbing – we have to route a 1in pipe along the wall or I will be waiting a week to fill the HLT
- Cold room – we need somewhere to condition all the tasty beer
- Malt floor and malt chute/malt hydrator. Thanks to Sadler’s Ales for the inspiration for the malt hydrator.
- A little bit of electrical work.
- Then we will be getting the brew kit in and the warehouse will be turned into The Brewhouse.
As I say not long now, I am as excited as a small child at Christmas, and really can’t wait to do the first brew.
